Historic Gruene, Texas is not a community, its a lifestyle. A place where the river winds throught the olde town, where time stands still and life moves at a slower pace.

Founded in the mid 1840's by Ernst Gruene, a german immigrant, and his bride Antoinette, Gruene still holds much of the charm from that era. The main boulevard is dotted with quaint bed and breakfast homes, botiques and antique shops. Also on the boulevard are the famed Gristmill restaraunt over looking the river and Gruene Hall, supsected to be the oldes dance hall in Texas.
